Welcome to Remaining Echoes ("the App"), developed and operated as an independent iOS application. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal data with the utmost care and respect.
This Privacy Policy explains what information the App collects, how it is used, and the choices you have regarding your personal data. By using Remaining Echoes, you agree to the practices described in this policy.2. Information We Collect

When you use Remaining Echoes, you may provide the following information:
Names of loved ones and your own name (stored locally on your device only)
Voice recordings made within the app
Photos and images you add to your memory galleries
Text notes, captions, and personal messages you write

The App may collect limited technical information to support its functionality:

We do not collect any data on external servers — all your personal memories stay on your device
We do not collect location data
We do not use advertising identifiers or tracking pixels
We do not share your data with third-party advertisers
We do not build user profiles or sell your information to anyone3. How We Use Your Information
All information you provide is used solely to deliver the App's features to you:
To display your personal garden, memories, and profiles
To send you push notifications (reminders, streak alerts, deed of the day) — only if you grant permission
To play background music and manage your sound preferences
To process and verify your in-app purchase through Apple's secure payment system
To provide the daily deed system with appropriate Islamic guidance contextualised to your profile type
We do not use your information for marketing, profiling, or any purpose beyond providing the App's core functionality to you.4. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored locally on your device using iOS standard storage mechanisms (UserDefaults and the app's local file system). We do not operate any servers that store your personal memories, voice recordings, or profile information.
This means:
Your data stays on your device at all times
Deleting the app removes all associated data
We cannot access your memories, recordings, or personal entries
Data is protected by your device's built-in security (Face ID, Touch ID, passcode)
While we take reasonable steps to protect your data within the App, no method of storage is completely secure. We encourage you to keep your device protected with a strong passcode.5. Push Notifications
Remaining Echoes may request permission to send push notifications, including:
Morning reminders to start the day with intention
Daily deed suggestions
Evening reflection prompts
Streak warnings if a daily deed has not been completed
Milestone celebrations (7, 30, 100 day streaks)
Weekly memory prompts
You can enable or disable these notifications at any time through the App's Settings screen or through your device's iOS Settings. Notification permission is optional and the App functions fully without it.6. In-App Purchases
Remaining Echoes offers a one-time Pro upgrade ($0.99) processed entirely through Apple's App Store. We do not handle, store, or have access to any payment information.

Your purchase status is verified locally through Apple's StoreKit 2 framework. We do not receive your billing details, card information, or Apple ID.7. Microphone and Photo Library Access
7.1 Microphone
The App requests microphone access to enable voice recording features in the Voice Vault. Voice recordings are stored locally on your device and are never transmitted to any server. You can revoke this permission at any time in iOS Settings.7.2 Photo Library
The App requests photo library access to allow you to add photos to your memory galleries and fridge board. Photos are stored locally within the App and are never uploaded or transmitted. You can revoke this permission at any time in iOS Settings.7.3 Music Library
The App may request access to your music library to allow you to select background music for video albums. The App only reads the selected track and does not copy, transmit, or store your music library data.8. Children's Privacy
Remaining Echoes is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe your child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us and we will take steps to address the situation.
The App is designed as a memory preservation tool for adults who wish to honour and remember loved ones.9. A Note on Islamic Content
Remaining Echoes includes optional Quranic verses and Hadith (sayings of the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him) as captions and in the daily deed system. This content is clearly attributed and contextualised for users of all backgrounds and faiths.
This content is presented as educational and spiritual enrichment and does not constitute religious advice or instruction. Users of all faiths and no faith are welcome to use the App.10. Third-Party Services
The App integrates with the following Apple-provided frameworks only:
StoreKit 2 — for in-app purchases (Apple's privacy policy applies)
UserNotifications — for push notifications (no data leaves your device)
PhotosUI / PhotoKit — for photo library access (no data transmitted)
AVFoundation — for audio recording and playback (recordings stored locally)
MediaPlayer — for accessing your music library (no data stored or transmitted)
We do not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or data collection services.11. Your Rights and Choices
Because your data is stored locally on your device, you have full control:
Access: You can view all your data directly within the App
Delete: You can delete individual profiles, memories, or voice recordings from within the App at any time
Delete all: Uninstalling the App removes all associated data from your device
Notifications: You can disable notifications at any time in iOS Settings
Permissions: You can revoke microphone, photo, and music library access in iOS Settings at any time
If you are located in the European Union or United Kingdom, you may have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or UK GDPR. As we do not store your data on external servers, most of these rights are fulfilled by your direct control over your device.12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the Effective Date at the top of this document and, where appropriate, notify you through the App or the App Store update notes.
